I love this very much! I love how well the tree, moon, air, and water flows so well together!
I've been looking for tattoo ideas for a long time now. is there anyway i could barrow the placement of your major elements? such as a tree, but not a cherry blossom, and the wolf, but not white and more realistic... i just love your placement, and dont want to "steal" your art or anything! n_n
Haha, thanks SO MUCH for asking first! I don't really mind if you take inspiration from the composition. The tattoo is taken already though and was done for a specific person so I would rather people not take it for themselves. But as long as it's your own design, go ahead!
Ow wow, that's a really stunning design, but full back? I pitty the poor soul... I mean, my entire shoulderblade is about equal in detail (a cherry blossom branch over an enchanted kitsune) and it hurt really bad, and it was only four hours with an expeiranced artist. so... ouch... at least the color white doesn't hurt as bad as some of the others.
Other than that the design is conceptualy pleasing though it does seem to pull the eye downward as a focus. All in all, very beautiful.
Haha, well, he asked for it, but i do feel a little bad for him now that he has to go through all that pain.... -___- Well, I myself have a tattoo, but it really didn't hurt much for me, and it's on my shoulder blade. I didn't know colors effected how much they hurt though.
Yeah, The colors don't really affect anything, but my white healed perfect and my purple needs touch ups which hurt. But it could just be my skin type. Shoulder wasn't to bad to get done though, and I've heard from others who have more than the shoulder that it's a pretty ok place. If there is an 'ok' place I guess.... still would not want a ful back tattoo.
Nothing too special for the textures, I used a light scattered brush over rough areas, but stuff like the fur and the moon are all hand painted. I threw a final light screen texture over it using a wood-like pattern (it's barely visible).
